Russia and Armenia agreed on mutual travel with internal passports by citizens of both countries. IA “TASS” reported about it on 24 January. Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister of the Russia Federation, claimed about it after the meeting with Karen Karapetyan, his Armenian colleague.
“We agreed that citizens of our country will be able to go to Armenia using their internal passports,” - Dmitry Medvedev said after negotiations. Russian and Armenian sides signed the document containing amendments to agreement on mutual visa-free travel with internal passports by citizens of both countries. “This will strengthen cooperation in very important sphere – humanitarian dimensions,” - Dmitry Medvedev said.
It is worth mentioning that flow of tourists to Armenia has grown up in 2015, as Russians try to find cheaper travel destinations including countries of the former USSR.
